If there was no notification of the process change, I do regret this. If Microsoft doesn't offer to provide a valid key or if the customer's company doesn't have one, staff offered that one can be purchased from Microsoft. If I heard correctly, Microsoft can provide the customer with a valid product key to use.ĥ. If there is none, the customer is advised to contact Microsoft.Ĥ. Staff said if the customer is using the company's image, the company should have a product key for the customer to use. Staff confirmed that the product key in the BIOS is for HP's image.ģ. For this product, the product key no longer appears on a sticker on the computer. Here is a summary of my discussion with HP's support staff:ġ. As I indicated to I would share my discussion as it may be helpful to confusion about a process that worked many times previously and not currently is understandable as the process has changed. I should not have to contact tech support and have them remote into my PC to activate it.Thanks to for responding amazingly promptly for additional information which I used to review his support case and to discuss the issue with one of HP's support specialists.

At the very least, there should have been instruction provided to me on how to activate my subscription. I would have expected to recieve some kind of activation code or special web link to activate my subscription. It looks fine and seems to have worked, but I'm quite miffed by the process used to activate my Office 365 subscription. But they had to first check on my purchase order and then had to remote into my PC and log into my Microsoft account (with my help) and essentially purchase a 1 year subscription on my behalf. The tech was very friendly and helped my get it activated.
After several failed tries, I initiated a tech chat session. I could find no information on how to activate my new subscription on my existing Microsoft account. After recieving my laptop and getting things setup, I decided to try activing my Office 365 subscription. I recently purchased a new Spectre x360 laptop and included a 1 year personal subscription in my order.
